Altered Tin

So, my dear neighbor is on the verge of beginning her own business and is a bit nervous as any future self-employed person would be. I thought it would be nice for her to have something that will offer her encouragement, motivation and a little bit of inspiration for when she's feeling down about things or stressed or whatever. So, last night in about 15 minutes I created a simple tin for her to keep. Included in it are about 500 quotes and sayings. So there will be more than enough for one a day or many a day depending on the day.  Like I said maybe took me 15 minutes to create the tin, now........ cutting and folding and hand picking each and every quote that went in it to make sure it was relevant to her.... much much much LONGER. But all worth it in the end.

I'm hoping to get lots done this weekend but we'll see how it goes. I have a few Mary kay parties and then a finance class I'm teaching tonight.. and every Thursday night for the next 12 weeks. Sooooo I may consider moving Tutorial Thursday's.. but not sure yet.

Wandering Wednesday- Get a translator!

I have been totally inspired by so many people lately. It's quite hard to keep track of them all. Now a few weeks ago I showcased alot of great male crafters that I was in awe of and this week I wanted to share another great artist. I don't even want to call her a "crafter" becuase I feel as though thats not covering all the wonderful things she does.

Now there's a catch as there always is. More so a Craft Donkey Pet Peeve. Do you ever stumble upon a blog that's in another language? If you're a blog wanderer of course you do! Do they have a translator on it? You know something that allows you to show the blog in whatever language the person can read.

Do you have something to translate language on your blog???  I sure hope so and if you do not I really encourage you to add it onto your blog.......like today!. The Internet being so amazing like it is people can view your blog from all over the world. And who isn't flattered when they look at their stats and see people are viewing them all over the place. I don't know about you but that fluffs my feathers a little bit. And believe it or not....................gasp............................. some don't speak or read English, I know insane right? haha  I'm often disappointed greatly when I see something soo super cool, but there's no translator. Urks me actually. Don't they want more people to be able to read it?? Don't you?? So, if you don't please do me a favor, yourself and your blog a big favor and add it already!

Okay back to my wandering....

I recently came upon an artist like I said who just has amazingly awesome (in my opinion) work. I love everything Finn does.. and she has a translator so I can READ it! Not just enjoy the pictures. I love her! I love her style and what comes out onto the paper when she creates!  She does collections of items that I just adore. I played around with it this style this weekend and will share that later this week with what I came up with.  Love it so much.

Here is Finn's site: HERE I am forewarning you, you can spend hours looking through all the greatness on it!

Here are a few samples of her work! I made the pictures HUGE so you can see all of the intricate details! These are just a few of the hundreds of things she has showcased that I personally adore. But you have to head over these and take a peak, let her know Craft Donkey sent you! She knows I'm showcasing her today. Let me know does this inspire you? Even if your not into this particular style does something pop out at you that makes you say oooooowwwwwwww and ahhhhhhhhh? Let me know. And, remember if you do not have something to translate your English or whatever language to something else.. get it on there... you're only hurting yourself by not having it on there.

5 Minute Cards

Believe me when I say a 5 minute card I mean it. I got home last night from a meeting at 9:30. Made supper, the kids and I had already ate but my boyfriend takes whatever we had for dinner one night, the next night for his dinner... does that make sense? So ya san So I got it made and put away, then took a shower.. I don't know about you but someday I loathe showering... lol sounds horrible but come on! Takes valuable time I could be using for something much more fun than shaving and cleaning.

Anyways, I got everything done, settled down to catch up on The Voice I had recorded when I remembered I needed 2 cards for the next day. Now normally I'm a planner, I have spreadsheets that tell me where spreadsheets are! LOL  Yes I'm THAT insane. But for some reason I can't seem to get caught up on cards. There's about 1 card per day when you look at company anniversaries as well as birthdays. I have a list of when they all are... I simply put it on back burner and forget. This weekend I spent all my time playing with a new layout that's super fun. I can't wait to share it with you all.

But in the meantime here are two cards that took me less than 5 minutes each to complete. Their not the fanciest, their not the best by any means, but their something! And something is always better than nothing.

Oh and for the record... I DO NOT HAVE RED CARPET in my house, lol these were taken on a shggy rug I have. lol

Winner..... Winner....... Chicken Dinner...

Okay, so there is no chicken dinner, unless you want to come over sometime.. lol

So I've bee blown away but all of the guest response's to this months giveaway!!!!! It's been just great. So first and foremost I wanted to say everyone was picked at random.... by my 6.75 (the .75 is VERY important) daughter! I let her choose everyone out of a bowl. Each person was entered for the large giveaway based upon their comments, postings on their blogs, showcasing their room and so forth. Everyone who submitted a picture of their scrap space, that lead to their scrap space was also entered for the Clip it up. I did ensure that anyone who entered was "findable" in my followers! Anywho, I had a ball with this! It was so much fun and I appreciate all who participated. It was a large hit. Can't wait for you all to see some of the giveaways this month!

I was going to wait until tomorrow since I've already posted three times today but I feel behind after not really have a weekend and just couldn't wait to share.

Okay so you're all dying to know who won right...............

Well first I wanted to say thank you to everyone who entered into the Scrap space showcase!! Here is a list of all of those who entered who have an active blog and are followers! Please if you haven't already pay them a visit and let them know Craft Donkey sent you over!

New Finds

So, how frickin cool is this! I found this for only a few bucks in the clearance isle of Kohls. I'm in love with it. The old typewriter key look of it had me sold! I'm not sure if I will alter it or not! Now they did have a few others but they were just the letters K and E.. and what the heck would I do with those two letters? So I stuck with this one. Loooove it.

Oh and behind the hook is an old ceiling tile I snatched up when they changed out the ones at work. I just adore it's honeycomb look! I'm sure I'm going to make something out of it in a fun chunky frame, but it will need cut, when I get it cut then I'll use some I think for block stamping! Anyways, it has lots of potential as well.
