A Year in Review Album

So, I began playing with this album, using a wide variety of mediums. There's masking tape, tissue tape, book pages, water color crayons, pan pastels, inks, stains, stamps, etc.

I began this with no idea what so ever of what I was going to use it for. I just knew I fell in love with it. I ran across a blog the other day where this gal (kicking myself for not saving the link), had created a year to remember album. I thought it was a nifty enough idea. I decided that's what the album will be, there's enough pages in it to do 12 monthly pages and then a few extras for maybe some 2 page spreads. I don't know yet if it will have pictures or just stories and information. But, I know it'll be perfect for a year in review. I have a few things to add to the cover to finish up the cover now that I know its purpose, but couldn't wait to share the progress thus far. I've also added a few other pieces that I'll showcase once I get the cover done. I haven't decided if each month I should finish a page to it or do them all at once and then just add to it as I go. What do you think? Don't you love the texture!! Love masking tape.

The Dollhouse

So, for Christmas my daughter got one of the fancy dollhouse's from Hobby Lobby. I thought since I used a ton of scrap booking stuff on it and a boat load of Helmar Adhesive (because it's the only one I trust to hold up with all types of things), I would share it on here. Here are some pictures from start to now. It's still not near finished with the outside needing more painting and the inside needing ceilings done, shingles and countless other things. We're letting her do as much as she can... painting what she can, picking out papers and colors, therefore the house will be yellow, pink and blue! So here it is thus far! Gonna need a ton  of helmar for the billions of 1x1 shingles that go on this. Oh ya and I totally glitter misted the stairs! Who says you can't have a little bling in your house! Not even goign to lie this has been sooo much fun!

7-Gypsies CityScape- almost done

Okay, so after months and months working on this thing I feel like I'm getting somewhere. I made a decision that I wasn't going to rush this project. So, I'm okay with it taking a while and only having little bits of progress along the way!

Here is the latest set of updates to it. You can check out all of the progress in the itemized section under 7-Gypsies found on the left hand side of the side bar of the blog.

Oh the Fun

So while gone for Christmas, I did a good deed and cleaned out Eric's mom's spare room. It has been collecting items... anything and everything since her daughter now 28, left for college. You can only imagine the things I found in there. Filled to the brim with decorations, old clothes, dolls, books, animals, pictures, old radios and maps and all sorts of things. I can't even explain. It took an entire day to sort. In the end I was greatly rewarded. I cleaned out 12 large black trash bags of clothes for her to donate and then I came upon some very old radios, which I was told I could have!!!!! SCORE!!! I will have to pick up on another trip because our cars were beyond full. I also came upon an old atlas, that I'm over the moon for as well as some old Golden books. I couldn't beleive my luck. Some were Eric's sisters, marked clearly with her cute hand writting and some were Eric's.

After talking to his sister she insisted none of hers could be taken, I was soo sad, but then Eric's mom said to go ahead and take those that had Eric name in them. So now, I have quite the little collection between those I got of his as well as the I already had. I get sooo giddy over these and can't even explain why! Here's some pictures of them!

Ohh the fun Storage

So, a few days ago I posted a link to Ranger's blog to show off some fun storage print ables and what not. Hope you had a chance to check it out. If not what are you waiting over.. did I mention the print ables are free!!

So, in light of that and somethings going on around here. I started playing with some storage ideas of my misc. this and that things. I purchased from an antique store a few months ago this very nifty old drawer. And I found it would be absolutely perfect for my odds and ends. The things I know I should put away but always end up in some little tubs I have and then, their such small things that I end up forgetting them. Now I have them all in one place that I will look often to. Here are some pictures. I definitely decided I need many more of these drawers!
