Scrappin Update

Alittle update here ladies. I have been super busy crafting. I have a few items I made for Halloween still to share just because they are super thrifty and fun, as well as some more news and progress on the city-scape and of course some layouts and other techniques.

My camera recently decided it didn't like me hence why no posts lately.. cause you all know me.. I love pictures!!

Also remember the giveaways this month!!

This weekend I'm diving into my craft room to do a large overhaul of cleaning!!! It needs it super bad. I keep all of my filing in there as well as right now there's Halloween decor spilled everywhere waiting to be put away properly.  So, I plan on spending a few nice hours  in there getting it back into shape!! Then we can get back to our weekly how to vids. Are you as excited as me!?!?!?!?!

Wonderful Finds

Over the last week, I have found some just amazing finds. Some that happened to fall into my lap via friends finding them at auctions and some lucky finds from a recent trip to an antique store. I thought I'd share them with you. Cause well, their just ubber fun to look at if nothing else. I haven't decided all of their destinies just yet, but love thinking about all the fun stuff I will be doing with them. Whats some interesting finds you have found lately? I thought all of these were great deals at spending about 30 dollars for all of them!

Ok, so I did show some restraint while shopping. There were 2 other really nifty wooden crates like this and I only got one! The yellow one just called my name.

How nifty is this. They called it a painters tray but I'm not 100 percent sure its not a type key tray. None the less I've been obsessing over finding a whole drawer unit of these. This just made my day when I came upon it. I just can't get enough of it. Someday I know I'll come upon an entire drawer unit of them but for how, I believe I'm leaning towards this being a very large wall piece. Just not sure yet of a theme or where I'm going with it as it is soo large. It wont just be plain holding nick knacks though. This much I can tell you for sure. Just not sure how much I want to "do" to it. I def. want to keep the rich old wood look, past that, its all still in my head.

These were found in a box of misc. things won at an auction by a friend of mine. I couldn't help but snatch them up when he offered. Their from 1925 and I just adore the books themselves as well as the little box they came in. How nifty is that 1 cent Franklin stamp. I'm still undecided on crafting with these or saving them. I have been trying to find out how much their worth before I use them on anything.

Hello.. happiness! ** GIVEAWAY**

So,I haven't been buying much lately. In the last 3 months or so I have purchased maybe  50 bucks worth of things that I have used and needed.. things like adhesive.

However, in the last few weeks I've been stalking my local stores for the new releases coming out. I've been soo happy with some finds. Some have proven that I have no self control at times. Here are some new Prima goodies I picked up. I didn't buy them all but darn close. I shall get more of them when I store up enough in store credits to get them for free.

I've adored these since I first saw them showcased on the designers blog. Some are metal and some are resin. I'm in love.. might need duplicates of some of them!! The metals these are made of are soo heavy and heavy duty, which while might not always be great for scrap pages. I love them for altered art. And, well I'm sure they will find themselves onto some of my pages as well, I don't care how much they weigh! Soo in love. Just thought I would share. Can't wait to create using some of them!

I'm not surehow to explain it but I've been lusting after these. Soo bad, that I have their link saved to my favorites, a sticky note to recallw hen they were coming out, and them also in a folder on my desktop... lol. Slightly crazy I know, but how can you not love these! I admit the price is a bit steep for me, however by saving by not buying other things like flowers that have come out.. I've made it balance out a bit.

Now since I'm soo in love with these I will also be offering one lucky winner a chance to win 3 of these! Whichever 3 you choose! Between Now and the end of November! All you have to do is become a follower if you are nto a public follower, leave me a comment letting me know you are now one and have stopped by. Already a follower? Thats ok, recommend a friend and share on fb adn drop me a comment. If your friends come over make sure they mention you! You both entered to win them then!

Cityscape Update- lots of yummy texture

It's no secret that I love texture. I decided a while ago when I purchased this cityscape that it would not go int he normal form of a book. It would be a long shelf piece. I dug in last week and began getting some of the work done on them. Mostly right now just the main textures have been applies and OMG.. I love them all. Lots of pics here to show off all the great textures. like I said their far from done. Just showing some of the progress! Also came up with some great new techniques.. they were messy but they were soo much fun.

One of these is in straight course sandpaper and the other in canvas. I haven't decided if it will stay a creamy canvas or be treated with some color.

Who doesn't love this texture??? This texture is brought to you by Helmar Adhesive. That's right its adhesive. Scrap dots glue. Love the rubbery feel it gives!

Who doesn't just fall in love with this! Alittle Staz-on over the top to pull up that texture even more.

Some lovely Gritty molding paste and then misted for this great texture!

Love the stoney texture here!

This still needs trimmed a bit of the paper that dried to the back but I love this texture. I'll probably add some color to it. Its not glitter it's the wonderful little pebble balls. The name of them is escaping me right now.

Of course this is not done.. just some color play on the perfect green building.. texture to come!

Alittle molding paste to add some great texture here.

Some corrugated cardboard.. sanded it down a bit and painted it. Once again colors not done, but off to great start.

I saved my favorite for last. I wanted something that imitated some stonework. I fell in love with this! I have tons of duct tape. For this I took some white, tore it off into pieces and then put on non stick mat, then I painted, while paint was still wet, I coated in embossing power and then heat set. OMG.. I'm in love, the texture the feeling and look. Just amazing!!! I heat set some areas longer to get a black on some of the pieces.

Ok that's its for now ladies. Hope it spunked something in you. Get in there and craft. Try something new!!
