Cityscape Update- lots of yummy texture

It's no secret that I love texture. I decided a while ago when I purchased this cityscape that it would not go int he normal form of a book. It would be a long shelf piece. I dug in last week and began getting some of the work done on them. Mostly right now just the main textures have been applies and OMG.. I love them all. Lots of pics here to show off all the great textures. like I said their far from done. Just showing some of the progress! Also came up with some great new techniques.. they were messy but they were soo much fun.

One of these is in straight course sandpaper and the other in canvas. I haven't decided if it will stay a creamy canvas or be treated with some color.

Who doesn't love this texture??? This texture is brought to you by Helmar Adhesive. That's right its adhesive. Scrap dots glue. Love the rubbery feel it gives!

Who doesn't just fall in love with this! Alittle Staz-on over the top to pull up that texture even more.

Some lovely Gritty molding paste and then misted for this great texture!

Love the stoney texture here!

This still needs trimmed a bit of the paper that dried to the back but I love this texture. I'll probably add some color to it. Its not glitter it's the wonderful little pebble balls. The name of them is escaping me right now.

Of course this is not done.. just some color play on the perfect green building.. texture to come!

Alittle molding paste to add some great texture here.

Some corrugated cardboard.. sanded it down a bit and painted it. Once again colors not done, but off to great start.

I saved my favorite for last. I wanted something that imitated some stonework. I fell in love with this! I have tons of duct tape. For this I took some white, tore it off into pieces and then put on non stick mat, then I painted, while paint was still wet, I coated in embossing power and then heat set. OMG.. I'm in love, the texture the feeling and look. Just amazing!!! I heat set some areas longer to get a black on some of the pieces.

Ok that's its for now ladies. Hope it spunked something in you. Get in there and craft. Try something new!!

Problems with Comments

I know many bloggers in the blogger world having been having issues with people being able to post comments. I just read a post I thought I would share that states, newer accounts don't seem to be having the issue but some older accounts would not let people leave comments. If this is happening to your blog, this article states you should change your comments to pop up window display and it should make it to where you don't have to log in again to leave a comment.

Just thought I would share. I know my blog was having this issue, not sure if it has been resolved but I went ahead and switched to pop up comment window just in case!

Woo Hoo

In the last few days I've heard of soo many wonderful things that I plan to submit to. I thought I would share them with all of my crafty followers.

First and foremost Helmar Adhesives is now taking submissions for their beyond amazing design team. I plan on submitting as I am just smitten by all of their products.. and did I mention there's free glue involved!! How stinking cool is this!!! Here is the link for all of the information about submitting. If you have never submitted work for anything, don't worry about it. Tracy is beyond wonderful!! Try it, you have nothing to loose! But you have everything to gain with some wonderful adhesive and goodies. And did I mention an amazing Design team to work with!

Ok next. A girlfriend of mine saw this and sent this to me last night saying she thought it was right up my alley. I couldn't agree more! I'm super stoked to submit a handmade Christmas tutorial and even have the perfect project in mind, ironically using my wonderful Helmar and budget friendly as well! Can't wait to share. Are you interested in submitting something? Here's the link with all of the wonderful details!

I can't wait to get started and get the ball going on these both... some motivation under my rear!

Stay tuned this week I'll also be sharing some great Halloween goodies I've been making and my 7-gypsies cityscape project. I've completed almost all of the building pieces... soo much wonderful texture and fun!

Motivation Strikes

So, last night after a nice cup of coffee. I walked into my craft room and began playing. I got a few great starts done to a few of my 7-Gypsies cityscape pieces. I'll be recording a video tonight to show some of their progress so far. I'm working with some great textures on them. Corrugated cardboard, canvas, sandpaper, textured mediums....... oh my! So, tonight I shall do some more work on them and also need to make a card for someone at work. So, I'll be on U-stream. It probably will not be until 8 or so. It will be recorded as well, since its not really a class just me playing around.

I was ubber happy to have my motivation to play come back though! Made me feel soo good! What have you been working on?

Motivation Monday??

So, tomorrow rather than posting some great motivation. I've decided I'll be online and doing a video on U-Stream!! YAY. Join me in chat tomorrow night. You can find my U-Stream channel on the left hand side of the blog here. I'll be on at 8pm! I'm not even sure what I'm showcasing for sure just yet. We may make some cards or work more on my 7-Gypsies cityscape, or maybe some layouts..... who knows. I'm just not sure yet what I'm feeling. However, I shall be live and be working on something that will motivate you.... well hopefully. I hope you can join me for the chit chat and if not. It shall be recorded as it always is!

I'm not even going to lie, there have been no posts, as well...... I haven't been motivated. Ok, I have been motivated, I find motivation...everywhere, however not enough to really do much other than small creations or cards for people at work. LOL. See, we all go through those RUTS! Blah, I personally hate going through it but have found the best way to overcome this rut is to jump right in and not let it get to me! So, that's why there have been no motivation Mondays or wandering Wednesdays. Because honestly, I wasn't feeling it. I think that's fair. haha Complete honesty, we don't always feel like posting something. Don't always feel like motivating, especially when we're not motivated to so much as step into our craft area much less put out some great creationa! It happens. Sucks, but it happens none the less. Have you went through those moments? How long did it last for you? I tell myself "well if I could go buy some new things I'd be motivated." and sometimes, this is true it sparks some motivations, however the last 3 weeks..... umm that was not it. I even bought some things two weeks ago... lol, and haven't so much as looked at them much less been motivated to use them. I have soo much paper I could use a sheet a day until I die and not run out! So, product is no excuse!  Sooo, tomorrow night, we shall jump into it. Like I said not sure what we shall do, but we shall do something. I have some new stamps, embellishments, pan pastels, etc. that we shall put to use! Sometimes RUTS, happen! So, lets here it ladies, how bad are your ruts? How long do they last? How do you overcome them?
