WOYWW - I've been shopping.... eeeek

So, like I said yesterday when showcasing my tutorial on how to make primitive burlap and canvas flowers. Things were nuts this last weekend. I got a journal made and flowers made but at work in the middle of the night in between dis-batching crews. Needless to say my craft room has become a collection of things that need to be put away properly. When I got back from working it all got pitched in there. yet to be put away. I've got some new goodies everywhere awaiting a home. So don't judge me. There's been alot of boxes of goodies coming in and not being put away...grrrrr But it will all get done. Sometime this weekend.... maybe... you know how that goes! But I am very excited to dig into some of the goodies. Please excuse the bad photos but I took them on my phone while heading out the door at 6am this morning. So their a little dark and a little not the best quality.

DIY Canvas Paintings

So, I have a friend who recently moved into a new place and has little to no decor. He's a bachelor, so he doesn't want anything necessarily "pretty". I decided to work on 10 canvas's for him. He can pair them up together as one large piece or pair them off or do whatever really that he likes with them. 

He wanted them to be the color palette of blacks, blue and red. Here's a peak at a few. I'll be posting further results of all 10 after we get them hung this weekend!

I used alot of texture on these and tried to make them funky. I used some stencils with a gritty molding paste for a rough texture, some Tim Holtz crackle and some light molding paste and some molding gel for the different textures and contrasts to the paints. I used only two different stencils but alot of diff pastes and techniques like running baby wipes over the dried gel make it have a more transparent look. I loved playing with them. As each one of very different yet they all flow well together.  Details and tutorial to come soon.

Girly Keepsake/Jewelry Box

I had so much fun playing with this box. It's one of my Dollar Tree finds. I just adore them, I picked up like 8 of them when I came upon them last time, so I always have one when the mood strikes to play with one. I think this is just going to be so cute for a little keepsake/jewelry box for a little girl. Here is the box I altered months ago, it's much simpler than this box, but still just as great. Be sure to check back in tomorrow for an altered mailbox your just going to adore created for under $3!

I first painted the entire box with Tattered Angels Mists. I used 3 different shades of pinks on it. This added an extra girly element by making all of the wooden glimmer! I then began adding the Glitz pattern papers around the edges and the back. 

I then added the top piece of paper. I love that these boxes have a magnet closure already in them. So nifty. See that glimmer? Lovely!

Love this glimmer. I then added some pieces on the inside. 

I then added a few Pettaloo flowers, glitter center and knob to the top. I also added a mini glimmered girl figurine to it as well. 

I added some bling along the bottom as well, as what girl doesn't love a little bling. 

Simple 10 minute Cards

Here are a few cards I whipped up last night. After blowing up 230 balloons for a birthday celebration... more about that and picture to come this weekend! Thanks for looking!

Over The Hill Card

For this card I made for someone at work, I wanted some masculine yet bright. I used cordanations card stock  Maya Road Chipboard that was embossed or painted, some Tim Holtz gears and some metal findings mesh. I'm very pleased with how it all turned out. Bright but manly. Thanks for looking!

CHA SNEAK PEAKS! I"M IN LUST!

Like I said the other day all of these CHA Sneak Peaks are driving me bonkers. I hate... that I can't just leave right now or even order from the comfort of my chair right now anything and everything I see that I know I must have.
